WW2 / The Holocaust

The Holocaust is arguably one of the worst things thats ever happened. So many people were killed for there religion. They were kid napped, tortured, and killed under the rule of one man Adolf Hitler. Jews were kidnapped and brought to theses concentration camps to be starved and killed. It lasted from 1941 to 1945. That is way to long for innocent people to keep getting killed. Hitler was trying to take over the world and the first thing he wanted was to get rid of all the jews. The saddest thing about this is when jews got kidnapped they got seperated from the familes and never saw them again. Kids saw their parents get taken and never saw them again. The nazi's were killing innocent little kids for no reason. Some jews hid out at neighbors or people that were kind enough to hide them. That was dangerous hideing a jew because if you were caught you could have been killed to. It was kind of like hideing a slave back in the day. The Great Depression

Life before the great depression was great. People had great jobs and the stock markets were good. They were doing what some people call living the life but not everybody even when the economy is great there is still people that cant make it. They either get in to much debt or just lose their jobs and cant afford things. Right up until the depression people thought the stock market was the best thing ever it was pretty much a " get rich quick " kinda deal. But when the economy got bad and the stock markets crashed people had tons of money in the stocks and it was suddenly gone. Not knowing what to do losing all this money people paniked takeing out loans. There for taking out loans and not being able to pay them pack was huge because the banks took a lot of peoples houses because they couldnt pay their loans back. During the Depression people had nothing i mean some had no houses no food no Nothing. They couldnt support their families and couldnt find any jobs. It really was a tough time for America. Families were living in little shacks basicaly.

Working conditions

Children as young as six years old during the industrial revolution worked hard hours for little or no pay. Children sometimes worked up to 19 hours a day, with a one-hour total break. This was a little bit on the extreme, but it was not common for children who worked in factories to work 12-14 hours with the same minimal breaks. Thats the childrens part in all of this. The men usualy worked long hours with very little pay also. Thats why some familys liked that their kid was working because its more income coming in.

Immigration in the 1800s was huge there were tons of immigrants comming every day. 70% of all immigrants came through New York City also known as the "Golden Door". Many immigrants wanted to move to communities were there homestead was. As soon as they settled in the started looking for jobs. There were never enough so Americans took advantage of immigrants and got work done for cheap . The workers were often physivally and verbaly abused just cause they were different. The immigrants helped build America believe it or not but they did because they showed diversity, unit, and how strong our nation is.

Some of the inventions during the 1800s were crucial to our time and play a huge role in our every day life. For example the light bulb was invented in 1879 by Thomas Edison and we needs lights to see and have them every where. If Thomas Edison never thought of them or created one who knows wat id be like today. The sewing machine was made 1853 not as crucial as the light bulb but let people sew things and make blankets and quilts and stuff. The box telephone was the first phone created and it is a crucial invention to our everyday life today.
The light bulb allowed them to see in the dark with out candles. The sewing machine allowed them to sew things. The box phone let them talk on the phone like we do.
